The adolescent years can be rough on individuals. Often teenagers can feel they don't have the ability or outlet to express the challenges and feelings that they experience through this adjustment phase in life.

Counseling can be a safe space where your teenager can open up and talk about their problems and learn positive ways to express and cope with these feelings. In my work with teens I find that the therapeutic relationship gives them a space to explore the thoughts that are hard for them to verbalize in other areas of their life.
As adults we may face multiple challenges that increase our stress levels and feelings of being overwhelmed. It is often hard to take time for ourselves in our busy schedules and I feel it is important to realize we deserve to be a priority.

There are lots of studies out there telling everyone what we already know about how stress can impact the mind and body. Unfortunately individuals don't always take the time to make themselves a priority and find themselves in patterns of taking care of everyone else around them. In my work with adults we work together through the non judgemental therapeutic relationship to explore these stressors and how we cope.
